Coming to Europe in this year's second-quarter, LG has just unveiled its new super high-end smartphone, the LG Optimus 4X HD.
To be demonstrated at next week's Mobile World Congress, this new device features a rather large 4.7 inch IPS display that offers up a grand, tablet-like, 1,280 x 720 resolution. To really real us in, the device also sports again, a tablet-like, 1.5GHz Tegra 3 quad-core processor, which, thanks to its fifth 'ninja core', is now officially known as a 4-PLUS-1 processor, thanks to some smart NVIDIA marketing. With this we can easily expect > 2x CPU performance over current-gen mobiles, such as the Galaxy Nexus.
The goodness doesn't end there, with the device expected to feature Android 4.0 ICS as its operating system, along with a whopping 2,150mAh battery to support all this power. The phone will feature the now standard 1GB of RAM and ships with 16GB of internal storage. Despite its large screen and battery, the device is only 8.9mm thick, which when compared to a slim alternative, such as the Samsung Galaxy S II, which is 8.49mm at its thickest point, is fairly impressive. Other features include support for DNLA and MHL, with the device also toting an LED-flash 8MP BSI rear-camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera.
