A new build of Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) has been leaked for the Samsung Galaxy S2, suggesting that the latest OS refresh is almost ready for an official roll out.
The build, codenamed I9100XXLPB, was caught on camera, giving a fresh glimpse of how it runs of Sammy?s best-selling kit.
It is the second leaked internal build of ICS for the S2 and is dated January 29th, which means it shouldn?t be much longer before the gold (final) version is released as promised sometime this quarter, possibly mid-March.
The video, which lacks any narration whatsoever, provides a decent walkthrough of how the new changes in ICS fit in with Samsung?s bespoke TouchWiz UI and they meld surprisingly well together.
Major improvements ICS brings to the platform include a reworked UI, which melds surprisingly well Samsung?s custom TouchWiz skin, a novel screen unlock mechanism that uses face detection technology, updated apps and widgets, enhanced multitasking and an all-round smoother, faster user experience.
