Former British Telecom mobile phone network O2 has unveiled that it is to carry the recently launched Sony Ericsson Xperia S, which will arrive sporting only the Sony brand name and a HD screen.
O2 announced this news over Twitter, from their @O2 account, and in a tweet that read: 'Very much liking the look of the Xperia S from Sony - it'll be coming to us later this year! More details coming soon...'
ITProPortal ran an article on Friday, entitled ' ITProPortal Exclusive : Sony Ericsson Nozomi Xperia HD Hands-On Pictures, Ahead of Official Launch at Las Vegas CES ' - where the handset will now be known as the Xperia S, not the Xperia HD, after all.
This Sony branded handset will ship with a high definition 4.3-inch reality 1280x720 touch screen display, with the mobile Bravia engine, whilst running from a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, with 32GB of internal storage and a 12-megapixel camera, plus the Sony Exmor R feature and NFC capabilities.

The Xperia S is also running the Android ?Gingerbread' 2.3 OS and is a PlayStation certified device, just as their Play handset - with the same access to the PlayStation store, for playing of compatible games.
O2 hasn't released any prices or tariff details as yet for the Sony Xperia S, but the phone is due to arrive within the first three months of this year and will be upgradeable to Android ?Ice Cream Sandwich' 4.0, in the following quarter.
