Samsung has confirmed that Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich will be rolling its way to smartphones before Christmas, including the Galaxy S II.
Aside from the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the first existing smartphones from Samsung to receive the update will be the Samsung Galaxy Note and the Galaxy S II.
Tablets that will also get the update include the Galaxy 10.1, the Galaxy Tab 8.9. the Galaxy Tab 7.7 and the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.
Until now, the Nexus S was running Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The move effectively means Samsung has stolen a march on rival HTC, which plans to bring Ice Cream Sandwich to its devices early in 2012
