After yesterday?s new Xbox 360 dashboard launch, Microsoft has now released two mobile apps that each provide differing levels of Xbox LIVE and console interactivity. By far the more advanced of the two is the Xbox Companion for Windows Phone 7, which offers more features than its iOS counterpart. The app allows Windows Phone 7 users to search for media stored locally on their phones and play it via their Xbox 360 consoles. Another included feature is the ability to navigate the new ?Metro? Windows 8-style dashboard using Xbox Companion and easy access to friend activity, achievements and other Xbox LIVE features.

Users can also edit their avatars, update profile information, send messages and compare achievements with friends.
Both apps are free and available now for download on their respective app stores.
