View Full Version : Android Ice Cream Sandwich to hit Sony Ericsson Xperia phones in March

Owners of 2011 Sony Ericsson (SE) Xperia phones have four months to wait to get their hands on the latest version of Android, comments from an Italian SE exec suggest.
Maurizio de Palma, marketing manager of SE?s Italy division, revealed the update to the new Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) release of Android will be pushed out from around March next year via a post on the company?s official Facebook presence.
Assuming that?s a northern Europe-wide date, Xperia phone owners in the UK who bought their phones off-contract should also be able to get their hands on ICS by then.
Contract buyers, however, will of course have to wait while their carriers approve the upgrade and ensure it works with their services. And that, frankly, could take months.
