Are you considering to buy iPhone 4s just to try the new ?Siri? feature? Well you might have to re-think your decision. A French software company called Applidum has claimed that they are able to crack the data format of the ?Siri? system. This mean that if those claim is true, we can expect similar feature in Android device soon.
According to their online statement, Applidum said that they have manage to find a way to make Siri engine to work on any device. Whether it is Android based device or even an iPad will be able to run a real Siri application
The French company manage to find out that Siri system is worked based on a communication with Apple?s secure server, which is guzzoni.apple.com. Applidum continue to explain that Siri protocol is opaque. Just by create some SSI certification authority, the company developer team are able to use the certificate to fake those secure server.
Applidum said that the server is quite chatty. Apple put a lot of information on those server, they even marked every voice command you spoke and put a time stamp on it. But there?s a big obstacle, since Siri user must include key from iPhone 4s. Of these key isn?t recognized by the system, it would be easy for Apple to lock it. Therefore, developer must continue to find a way for Android device to basically ?impersonate? iPhone 4S.
Ryan Paul (Technica) predict that Apple would instantly close any Siri third party server. Because it will be difficult for Apple to watch and manage all of those unofficial server. Back to Applidium, the company has published the software code for online hack. But the code for fake keys isn?t for public download, although the company stated that users can easily done that by using the tool that is provided on the official website. However, Applidium has become a pioneer for key restriction hacking. It?s interesting to see if this discovery will bring lot of problem to Apple system
