OK got this sorted guys.

For anyone that has this problem and comes across this thread heres what happened.

I was trying to flash on my laptop but as I don't have a serial port I bought a cheap USB 2 serial converter and well it was crap, it kept hanging at "upload completed waiting for acknowledge...".

So after a lot of help from vvc_doctor I tried every possible solution and none worked because it was a crappy USB 2 serial adapter.

In the end I bought an serial port express card for my laptop and works a treat, I've flashed and got an image up and running.

Big thanks to vvc_doctor who spent a long time trying to help sort this problem out, and Spinifex who has been helping me behind the scenes with images and stuff.

Have given vvc_doctor rep and apparently I have to spread some more rep around before I can give you more Spin lol

he is still having issues, ive sent him my commando image that works. also told him not to use his laptop when flashing.

@ ferg i use a gembird cable which is literally a cable, usb plug, serial plug and a box within the cable.
not some cheap plastic small plug that hes using.
using mine i tried and tested fine.

there is some sh1t on ebay.

Spin.
