Hi, has anyone come had an error when installing apk files on android phone? I have a sony xperia play, it had an 8gb memory card in and I installed apk apps ok from my pc. I bought a 32gb sd card and reset my phone to factory defaults now everytime i go to install apk apps it says Parse Error : There is a problem parsing the package. I know the apps are ok because they worked with my 8gb sd card. I can install apps from Android market but for some reason it doesn't like apps installed from my PC. Thanks

Have you checked the sd card is either A not corrupted or B a fake as there are a lot floating about ebay, also is it a good quality card ...sandisk etc

Try this to format it http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=197 and then try it at fat32 if it isnt and normal fat to see if that corrects it,also try putting apk files straight onto the sd card via usb drive etc.
There is also this script To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. and/or this will install apk files from sd card i think https://market.android.com/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop

Thanks for looking dave.

HI, thank you for your reply I managed to install the apps after formatting using the link you gave me. I then cloned my old 8gb card and it seemed to work now. Thank you very much for your help
