2Tone from on here tried reading the bk off a 4001 box I have that has never been subbed. It was returning bad information, ie incorrect bk and ird. 2Tone was using a soldered-in simm.

Any ideas what the problem might be here?

there should be no prob getting info using simm method
as for ird it will show in eng menu on a sticker on the scart case
or onder the box
you will proberly find that the convertion from binery to hex was wrong
ie reading the binery wrong
read 1 from right to left then read 2 from right to left
if windows calc was used and the first binery was 0 then windows calc will not put a 0 in first as it will only start with a 1
the best way is plug and play
but if you would like to pm me the binery read 1 and read 2 i will check it then you can compare it to what you have and maybe get the right info
