View Full Version : Android 2.3.4 Coming To Xperia Smartphones

Sony Ericsson[/URL] have confirmed that all Xperia smartphones launched in 2011 will be upgraded to Android Gingerbread 2.3.4. The new update will be available for the Xperia range in October and will bring a number of new features and improvements to the mobiles.

The first new features is Gtalk video chat which enables you to make free video calls over your Xperia smartphone with front-facing camera. You can now also make a screenshot of your mobile screen which is a neat idea that's been available on PC's since forever.

External USB devices are now supported meaning you can connect your keyboard, mouse and game controllers to your smartphone. You can connect to your Xbox or Playstation controller for amazing gaming on your Xperia mobile.

Another novel new feature is the "3D Sweep Panorama" which enables you to take 3D panoramic photos and share them with your 3DTV. This feature is unique to Sony devices at the current time, but a generic version may be in the works.
