When working on doors cut a slot out of a 3-4' piece of 4x2 a little wider than the thickness of the door and about 1 and half inches deep.(in the middle)

Then cut a wedge.

sit the door in the slot and tap the wedge in to hold it tight.

it will hold the door nicely while you cut out the hinges ect

makes life a lot easier and you can keep it for any future doors you might hang!!!

My flatmate asks. does the 3-4' piece of 4x2 rest on the floor or is it fixed to the top of your trestle?

i use two screwdrivers, not really pc but gets the job done. (place under door and stand on to elevate)

you put the 4x2 on the floor with a 2/1/2inch cut out in it about 2"deep then put the wedge in the gap between the door and the 4x2 this then keeps the door from falling over when cutting in the butts and locks ect
