The problem I have is that the buzzer on the security phone( the type that you pickup and talk to person then press a button to let person in) is not very loud for an old deaf person. I cant find anyway to turn this up so am thinking I want to add a flashing light or light to this.

I had thought about getting a wireless door chime with flashing light.

I'[d connect the button to the buzzer contacts which would then activate the switch which in turn would activate the wireless door chime and light.

But I'm sure there is a much easier and better way.

Its just after this happening:

That's an absolutely shocking story PnP and you really feel for the family.
Even more so when you actually know them!
I hope they are strong enough to get over it, they have all my best wishes.

It seems nowadays you really need your own cctv on all your household access points, even when you are at home?
At least then there is evidence of everyone that calls at your home!
Something lethal that could be remotely activated would be good as well!

As far as your original question goes, why not give the deaf society a quick ring. They provide things like that for doorbells, phones etc for the deaf community, so they could perhaps recommend an installation kit, or a supplier where you could get your own, or you could get one to one advice from?

as diablo says my dad was deaf and so is my sister she has a bell when it rings all the lights in the house flash so no matter where she is she knows there is someone at the door she has as my dad did a few other things from the deaf socitey and am sure they fitted it for her as well
