if that works

dump your current anti-virus and now install:

both of them m8 will it do things to my computer as i aheva few dodgy things on it :lol:that i dont want to lose?

windows live scanner IS MSE but online version.

as for combofix

unless you know you have a false AV prog hanging around
i'e pop ups random things going on
i'd not bother to run it
its only a cleaner.

now,
if you need to findout what is running and what it might be doing

hackthis is the prog to run
that rips through the registry and reports gobble-de-gooke
lists everything the registry is doing, that is 'extra' to what is considered 'a std windows OS'

bit like an MOT, but you'll need to reoprt the finding [log] here
then we can all go thru it.

So what do you use when windows defender get disabled by the virus ?

windows defender......

that went years ago.

MSE replaces it now.

I'd definitely recommend hijackthis and malwarebytes. Usually between the two of them I've got rid of most viruses. sophos also does a free for a few days threat removal tool which is enterprise level. Can be useful after the event!

I like my malware bytes n other free apps but if nothin else run eset online scanner free,,,,every once n awhile , digs deep n keeps the pcclean [jmo]
