British Broadcasting Corporation BBC started testing the technology with ultra-high-definition broadcasts under the name Super Hi-Vision TV. In addition, the BBC confirmed that they plan to use this technology at the Olympics in 2012, which is preparing to host London.

Wow that is some hi definition. You cant imagine watching something as sharp as that is going to be.
Unfortunately its still a very long way off, but it sounds like upgrading to 3D tv would be pointless already?

in some quarters they say 3d tv is a phase and wont last long ,Super Hi-Vision TV was talked about long before 3D and now looks a contender to it,but it mite be like VHS and Betamax and you know how that went
