In this hot and pleasant weather we are currently having, I have had problems with my Pace D4000 with a TIT2 getting to hot. Channels freeze or are completly unaccessible.
Are there any other cards that run cooler to stop this problem ?? Or is there a solution ? Taking the cover off is a No, No, because of the wifes cats.
Would I be better off getting a new box, Dbox2 maybe. Do any if the others suffer from this problem ?
With global warming on the up, I am gonna have to look for a solution !!!!

Any suggestions, Jimbo

turn it off, and put in some where cool fro 30 mins, normally sorts it, make sure if in a unit that doors open, and dont sit it on top off vcr ect

Cheers CCW,
I actually ment a permenant solution to stop it happening. I already follow the golden rules of turning off and stopping the cats from curling up on top !!

I beleve there is a mod for this where you change a oscillator inorder to match wth the speed of the card better

I did this to all my boxes, grabbed a spare standard pc case fan. Found a 12v feed from board (please, please make sure is 12v and not 240v (dont fry yourself)).

I then cable tied the fan round the tuner, so was underneath the vents of the case.

Had no problems since, prior to this I was too experiancing glitching and locking.

What's the temperature like around the area you have the box?

fit an 80cm case fan on top of the box above the tuner, connect it to a universal power supply set at 6 volts and at half power you get no noise and the fan still does the job, whole kit cost about 4 quid
