was looking at getting a Magasat Quad Monoblock LNB for my VU+ Duo and to feed the sky+ in the other room, and adding a bigger dish like a 80cm so that i could get both Astra and Hotbird without having to buy a motorised dish.

as anyone got the twin or like i'm after the quad monoblock and if so are they any good ?
would like to know before getting one Ta

anyway here is some info on it and i have found it here for ?40 To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. They are good for astra 19deg & hotbird 13deg. You wont be able to get sky 28.2 and the other two sats using one of those.

Your better off with a fixed sky dish fitted with a quad output feeding sky+ and VU+ Duo tuner A, then fit a motor dish feeding tuner b on vu+ duo.

This is a quad monoblock lnb 9499
It as 4 outputs which would do my VU+ Duo and the sky + that i have in the other room which both of them have 2 inputs each.
At the moment i do not what to add another dish to the side of the house.
It would be a lot quicker for me to replace the sky dish with a 80cm then add this monoblock which would do both astra 19deg & hotbird 13deg which would give me alot more channles to play with for the VU+ for now :)

then in a few weeks time when i do have more time to play with i might look at getting a motorised dish

so what i would like to know is,
as anyone got one of these monoblocks and if so do it work as good as i'v been told it does.

The quad LNB will not be able to feed a sky+ receiver as it tunes to astra2 28.2 deg. Not astra1 19deg.

so yes it will work with a sky+ box ....the only thing it will not do is fit to a sky dish

It wont work with a sky+ receiver. Sky UK uses Astra2/Eurobird1 28.2/28.5

that lnb would be ok for 13/19 east or 5east/1west

a frontier dish might be an alternitive to a motor set up,..but lnb cost would out wiegh the benifits

a 4 way diasque might solve the problem, but in the end, fixed 28 east/quad lnb and a motorized dish for tuner "b"
