The Slingbox, for the uninitiated, is a very clever little device which plugs in to your telly at home and allows you to watch whatever you want, directly from your television, anywhere in the world remotely. , the Slingbox requires a connection to your telly and also an internet connection.
Now, as the title for this article states, this is now available for the iPhone using 3G connectivity and means you can watch televsion on your iPhone anywhere in the world where a decent 3G or Wi-Fi signal is present. The app had been previously restricted to Wi-Fi connectivity with 3G compatibility available but ommitted for, well, undisclosed reasons (probably to spare AT&T and O2?s data networks). You?d be quite right in thinking that actually, people have been watching telly on their iPhones for quite sometime now thanks to BBC iPlayer and the like. But, where the Slinbox and Slingplayer app really come itno their own, is that it is your television that is being broadcasted. You can remotely change the channel using the iPhone look at listings to see whats on and even watch programs you have recorded on a Digital Video Recorder.
Available in the App Store now for the initially rather wallet worrying price of ?17.99, the app really pays for itself when you?re enjoying all your premium TV content on your iPhone.

It's just a shame the quality is so bad, TV Catchup and the SKy app are much, much better.

Still, not been able to live without my Slingbox for 3 years now :)
