What Dreambox model do you have?

Are you using a straight thru network cable to connect to the router?

Have you checked the network settings on the Dreambox and turned DHCP on? Reboot the Dreambox once DHCP have been turned on.

I have Dreambox 7000-s, Gemini 0460 for 7000 and I am using a straight thru network cable to connect to the router.
When DHCP is on my data in Communication setup look like this:
IP: 10.0.0.97
Netmask: 255.0.0.0
Nameserver: 127.0.0.1
Gateway: 127.0.0.1
and i get that error 10057.

Goto network settings, turn off dchp, reboot dreambox. Go back to network settings, re-enable dhcp, reboot. Now check the dreambox dhcp settings.

Also confirm that you've used a straight thru network cable direct to your router.

I tried but its same.
My dreambox is connected with earthnet cable to my router (LAN4).
P.S. I just have to go and get my kid from kindergarden, and I will be back in 10 min. Please stay with me because your my only hope.

Please post the network details of your router, e.g. The subnet, the gateway address etc..

What make model is the router?

Is DHCP enabled in your router settings?

Try typing the IP addy of your box into a browser to check your connection, there?s a slim chance that your boxes IP addy might have changed and that's why it's not connecting. DCC will do a search for all available IP's

cmd/ipconfig/all

Earthnet adapter Local Area Connection:
DHCP Enabled : Yes

IP address: 192.168.1.3
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Def. gateaway: 192.168.1.1
DHCP server: 192.168.1.1
DNS server: 192.168.1.1

In my Win IP configuration on IP Routing Enabled it says No - is this right?

Model of a router is Sagem_0431.

DHCP is enabled.

Your network settings should be something like this: -

IP: 10.0.0.97 <<<<<<<<<<<< Assigned by your router, depends what the DHCP is set to on your router, could be 192.168.1.xxx or 192.168.11.xxx, depends on make, model & router settings.

Netmask: 255.0.0.0 <<<<<<<<<< Depends what set in your router, could be 255.255.255.0

Nameserver: 127.0.0.1 <<<<<<< This depends on your router again, could be 192.168.1.1, 192.168.11.1, depends on router, make, model, settings etc..

Gateway: 127.0.0.1 <<<<<<< Same as above.

To get an idea of your network settings either log into your router settings to find them or open a command prompt on your pc and enter this command: -

ipconfig /all

You must check that DHCP is enabled on your router for the dreambox to automatically set its own IP.

DHCP is enabled.

LOL, you must have read my mind lol, see post above.

Now goto dreambox and set the following: -

disable dhcp on dreambox and manually set the settings below.

IP: 192.168.1.50 <<<<<<<<<< If this conflicts with anything else on your network change the 50 to another number.

Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Nameserver: 192.168.1.1
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Once set reboot dreambox & try accessing the gemini download menu.

The settings are still not correct on the dreambox.

Are you able to use a different port on the router? Do you have another network cable you can try?

Try using Dreambox control centre to scan for your dreambox To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Set the language to english where it says sprache, set top left connection settings to router, then press scan.

Another thing you could try is setting the dreambox ip to 192.168.1.150, below that could be reserved by the router for DHCP use.

I tried to change IP to 192.168.1.150 and tried to download (Gemini-Server) but same - Cant resolve hostname. For a while when he was trying to dowload green light on LAN4 (where is sopouse to be drembox) blinked few times but nothing.
I also tried dcc but it only found my router and Ipnone, but nothing else.
I have another cable so I will try it and I will try different LAN.

Another way to check the dreambox connection is to try telneting into it.

So open command prompt and enter: -

telnet 192.168.1.150 or whatever the ip you've given it is.

Is this a clone dreambox that you just purchased? Has it ever been able to connect to the interent?
