Just fixed that one myself m8.
I put my Windows XP CD in the drive and booted from it (you may need to enter bios (Setup) to change the boot order so that the CD is read first.)
Next I followed onscreen prompts to boot from the cd, and then on into the windows setup. Once all files are loaded you'll get a choice of function..
choose 'R' to repair.
Wait and you should get a command prompt.. C:\Windows... etc
Type cd .. (there is a space after 'cd' before the two dots)
you are now at the prompt C:\
Type the drive letter of your CD drive D: or E: etc)
Now the prompt shld be D:\ (or the letter of your drive)
Type cd i386
Prompt shld now look like D:\i386 or E:\i386
Type copy ntldr c:
Next, Type copy ntdetect.com c:
Now boot PC and see if that's got rid of that annoying need to use a floppy.

One other thing I forgot to mention...
you may need to also use the fixboot command at the C: prompt once the two files have been copied.

I ended up just changing to vista, but it should fix the problem.
