What make is your TV as that will upscale the SCART image anyway? Brands like Panasonic and Pioneer have better upscaler chips than the supermarket brands like ONN and Technika.

Make sure you are using SCART in RGB mode if possible.

You may get more use out of an AMP which takes SCART/composite/component feed and outputs over HDMI, but you can probably multiply the cost by a factor of 10. Pande would probably be able to advise further there.

Having had a quick look on some of the AV forums (via google) the consensus of opinion is that unless you want to spend mega money you are unlikely to beat the scaler in the TV (that's not to say you won't match it).

However, what a couple of people have done, with adequate results, is to get a DVD/HDD recorder that has SCART in and HDMI out. This should upscales the SCART image and normally allows you to record the SCART feed too.

so something like this is pretty pointless? Scart to HDMI Converter for Sky Box STB DVD Wii on eBay (end time 21-Jul-09 01:19:38 BST) (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Scart-to-HDMI-Converter-for-Sky-Box-STB-DVD-Wii_W0QQitemZ140333102527QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_Def aultDomain_3?hash=item20ac8135bf&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A2136%7C 293%3A1%7C294%3A50)

My amp dose have an hdmi input/output and that cost me about ?200 and that is a cheap one.I agree with little pob on this one mate if your not happy with the pic then try a dvd/hd recorder and up scale it through that.I dont think you would get a better upscaled pic than what your tv is producing if you brought an upscaler unless you paid lots of pennys. If you go down that route why not get a v+ box and have the best of both worlds?imo it would prob work out cheaper
