LG has signed up to produce devices with Freesat functionality built-in, it was confirmed today.
The electronics manufacturer will initially produce only integrated Freesat digital TVs but said there is "the prospect of further products", such as set top boxes, "in the future".
Freesat managing director Emma Scott said: "We?re extremely pleased to be working with LG as a manufacturing partner for Freesat in 2009. LG is world renowned for its quality products and this partnership will give consumers even more ways to enjoy Freesat as we grow the service."
Panasonic already produces a range of plasma and LCD IDTVs with Freesat functionality. Freesat said it is in talks "with a range of manufacturers" about launching more products during the year.
