As in the ps3 consoles, reading some places they have flash card readers and some they are not for 80gb models, also the same for wifi

Dont quote me on this 100%, but I think it's only the old 60gb models that have card readers, extra usb ports & ps1 & 2 compatibility. I pretty sure but not 100%, but i think the 80gb is just an upgraded 40gb. Also pretty much 100% sure all 3 models have wifi, I 100% know the 40gb does have wifi cos i used to own one.

The older more expensive models that were first released had more features like the card reader ect and extra usb ports, the newer ones are cut down so they could cut the cost of them in the shops

Just got a PS3 today as was getting bored with xbox 360 lol and wanted a change.

If anyone has an easy guide to converting .mkv to bluray format i would be grateful as i can do it but get a green bar at bottom which is annoying :(

Sic's (as usual) mostly right. For the EU... i.e. PAL region, there are no Emotion Engine Chips... only software emulation for backward compatibility.

PS3 60Gb - Card Reader, 4 front USB ports + 2 rear USB ports + PS2 compatibility + PS1 compatibility, 60Gb HDD, NO Emotion Engine chip... only software emulation.

PS3 40Gb - 40Gb HDD. No support for previous consoles. No card reader. 2 front USB ports + 2 rear USB ports. Shorter channel runs/address buses/data buses. Better heat sink. Better air-flow.

PS3 80Gb - 80Gb HDD. No support for previous consoles. No card reader. 2 front USB ports + 2 rear USB ports. Shorter channel runs/address buses/data buses. Better heat sink. Better air-flow.
