Saw hobbit's post in the other thread... didn't think I should have replied it there so have started a new thread.

Where are all the MAC users, i cant believe we are that out numbered.

I have been using Windows since like the beginning, but when Vista came out, I could not stand it. so damn slow, unless you have the fastest PC on the market. So I got a mac to try, they are brilliant, admittedly the software isnt as freely available, but they are so reliable!. I cant believe there arent more mac users here

@hobbit - Apparantly we're the only 2 users here ! Been using Windows since its first version and Dos before that.

BTW... you'd be surprised at what s/w is available for the OSX out there... you just have to look :). I got everything I need very easily.

I'd said earlier on some post here, that almost 1 year on I was still not 100% comfortable with OSX... I can now say that I'm equally comfortable with both... Win/OSX.

And lastly... OSX crashes too. The good thing is that it doesn't take the whole system down with it. It is also not so highly succeptible to viruses/trojans simply due to the requirement of admin privs for any installation - something which Vista has also incorporated now... which bizzarly most people turn off !!

The OSX still remains an OS for the artists... or for video/audio editing. There is an immense potential for business applications as well. But there's no Bill Gates to take it to every desktop in the planet. Steve does a good Job (sic), but, he's no Bill Gates.

Having said all that... I shall quote myself again : The Mac & OSX are like a Ferrari - a bit impractical, but tremendous fun to drive.

From my experience OSX is also the system of choice if you're developing web applications. You've got the whole unix system under the hood to run apache, (my|postgre)sql, php, rails, whatever.

It depends on what you want to do pande

If your just doing normal stuff then go windows
If you are doing specialist art and vector applications then go mac

Chim's actually on the dot (as usual!)... dev work for business apps is predominantly done on Windows based systems. However, web based dev work, art work, music, photography, movies... blah blah... they're all done mostly on Macs.

But dang man... ! All this just to get your post count up !?! PMSL ;) !!

For an ordinary computer person window is enough. If u hopes to do some experts graphics stuffs or some extraordinary animations you should go for a Mac.
