i have a 42" toshiba LCD regza cant remember exact model number of the top of my head but i'm very happy with it m8.

just go for the one with the best spec or you like the look of the most, contrast ratio is one of the main things to look at, the higher the better.

not sure about SONY tv's but if they're anything like their computers you'll be able to get a better spec for lower price on a different name

I recently got a Sony KDL 40V3000, and am really unhappy with it. Picture quality is fantastic - until the camera moves - when the motion lag is awful. Football is almost unwatchable.

I would recommend a Sony lcd, you will pay a little extra but it will be a quality screen.
My current lcd is a sony and I think the picture is fantastic with both sd broadcasts aswell as hd.
With regards to the previous post it sounds like he needs to adust the motion enhancer or maybe it is turned off !

I have tried endless variations of all of the available settings and failed to reduce the motion blur. But cheers for the suggestion.

I have Sony. It works brilliantly.

Stick with SONY, at least it will be compatible with PS3 and blu ray.

I work at Comet and we have both models on display. I had a little play with both of them and they both have pro's and con's.

On the whole, I would say the Sony has the better picture quality, but the Toshiba has a better/easier menu to navigate and is probably easier to fathom.

Just my 2 pence worth! ;)

The Sony is the safer bet.

HOWEVER, the Toshiba with its extra thin bezel takes up far less space and looks superb.

Generally you'll pick up the Sony ?100 cheaper than the Tosh.

My recommendation... for corporates -> Sony; for home -> Toshiba
