hi all thought i would share the with you.

this morning i phoned sky and told them i want to cancel i got through to a lady and she asked me why i wanted to cancel.

i told her i think new customers are getting more than the existing customers are getting i.e sky+ box

she then said i could have a sky+ box and installed for 159.99 i told her it was too much then just like that she said ok we can do it for 99.99.
once again i told her it was too much just to watch t.v.

she then put me on hold for 2mins and came back and said if i take multi-room and sign a new 12month contract she would be able to get me a free sky+ box and free installation.

great but just to rub salt in the wound i made a little remark that why did she start at 159 and then go down to nothing.

she said she had to start at that because when we go down to 99 99% of people think they are getting a decent deal and will bite our hands off.

the moral of the story is if you don't ask you don't get.

p.s don't phone 0870 call this number 01506421884.

Welldone m8, you will find this also work`s with mobile phone companies, When you 12 month contract is up it is always recommended to phone your provide, and tell them you want to leave as your contract is up, but you should always speak to someone from the retention centre, as they are the only people who can give you a better contract than the standard one`s, this has always worked for me !!

Nice one billy8791

Sky has a target of 10 million (direct to home) customers by the end of 2010, so they are very keen to keep current customers and reduce the churn rate!

I did similar a while back, just say you want to cancel and you will be put through to the "Retention Department". They will more or less give you whatever you ask for.
