Guy's It hold my hand up time, wtf am I doing wrong

Got a motorised dish

first thing I did was fit the bracket, it is as straight as my spirit level and the bubble

checked my lat long and worked out my elavation angle 27

atatched all the dish and motor ensuring it was all aligned

mounted it on the pole

pointed it roughly south, hoping to fing thor 1.0w/0.8

but I only get approx 4.0 on the snr no sig lock at all

are you using proper mounting fixtures for dish, cos the wieght of the dish will knock
the alignment out, also the pole what mounts the dish could not be correctly lined up

just a thought ????

make sure the pole/bracket is perfectly plum/straight all around it not just one side;)

get your long/lat settings from here Worldwide map search, routing and travel directions from Multimap (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. eg mine are

Lat: 54:57:29N (54.95811)
Lon: 1:25:37W (-1.42703)

so i'd put in my receiver

Lat: (54.96N)---(orr all the numbers depending on space in image)
Lon: (1.427W)

with dish roughly alligned south tell the motor to go to thor 1 (1w or 0.8w) it might be labled in your listings, and select BBC world on 1w as one of the strongest transponders. once its there go up your ladder and ignore your elevation loosing bolts off slightly and move up and down, left and right till you get the best signal then tighten all up and try another satellite. lattiude should be set at roughly 55degrees m8

premeire on astra 2(19.2E) has a good selection of films, sport, documentries and kids etc that the language can be changed to english on most of them, except the hardcore porn as thats german language only.....but who listens to the storylines anyway ha ha.

TPS is available on hotbird (13e) too and again has good films etc and is in native french but can be changed to english by remote again when its available.

polsat on hotbird (13e)was open but not too sure as havent watched it for ages.

digitv on thor (1w) is also open and anoher good package, plus its got private spice on it;)

oh and have a look at hustler tv, might be labled pg and pb on 5e;)

as stated above those are the main packages open and if you installed captains settings they should already be in bouqets for you;)
