i have been using AVG for ages now and was thinking of getting a new antivirus. is Caspersky any better, or would AVG be the best option to keep?

normally id say zonealarm internet security suite is the best protection but i think a combo of AVG 8/registryfix/spyware doctor... will keep most peeps happy
I agree NOD32 is probably the best but for free try Avira personal edition. I've been using it and its pretty good - far better than norton and AVG. The only negative about it is that it displays a popup window when it updates (once per day) which you can click click on close so no too bad.

I've been using AVG for a couple of years now, but the last week or so its not been downloading the latest updates. So I was recommended avast.
So far so go - seems to work quitely in the background
