Wonder why they have chosen DVI instead of HDMI.
Licence issues with the HDMI have been a problem with the 8000.

Makers in Greater China are shying away from massive HDMI production for two reasons:rising costs of raw materials, specifically copper, and the high annual fee needed for licensed HDMI products.

In addition to the HDMI annual fee, every unit sold is subject to a royalty fee, which ranges from 4 cents to 15 cents. According to Jay Wu, Deputy General Manager of Hong Kong-based Chat Hay Inter-United Ltd, this has resulted in product pricing that is 30 percent higher as compared to unlicensed products.

Because of the steep investment HDMI product licensure requires, more companies are opting to simply guarantee their products' compliance with the HDMI standard, and many companies from China have expressed that they have no intention of licensing their products. In addition, makers are uncertain which of the different versions of HDMI (HDMI 1.0 to HDMI 1.3) will become the dominant standard in the future, causing confusion among makers across related vertical markets.
However, companies are still forecasting that HDMI will become the dominant interface for consumer electronics along with computer products--the domain of DVI manufacturers. As HDMI becomes backward compatible with DVI, more manufacturers choose to adopt an HDMI interface for their newer products. Taiwan companies believe that the DVI standard, limited to video signal transmission alone, will eventually disappear, aided by the release of HDMI-ready video graphic cards for PCs, such as those expected from ATI, one of the largest graphics card producers in the world.
Other applications for HDMI connectors include TVs, monitors, set-top boxes and DVD players. Sony Corp., one of the founders of the HDMI standard, has also announced that its much-touted PlayStation3 will be adopting the HDMI interface. Makers see game consoles, amplifiers for home theaters, various A/V devices and digital still cameras as emerging applications for the connectors.

How much! lol

For that price you prob better off with a DM7025. Paying loadsa money for HD output, but only 2 HD cable channels. Is it really worth it?

I think these will end up about the 250 mark in the end, after a while of course.

Looked at that euro sat place and they are taking pre-orders for Sat ones at 449 euros so about ?350.

True at the moment - Had Dbox for 3 years, so hopefully in next 3 we will see plenty of HD channels

Just hope to see a neutrino image sooner than later, something the devs can get their teeth into :)

i am thinking about getting the cable version and i thought that if the encryption changes in the future and the box is deemed defunct i could change the tuner and use it for freesat
