I was until recently a Samsung apostle, but having had a member of the family buy an LG42LF75, I am stunned and an LG convert. The picture whether upscaling SD or displaying a native HD picture is frankly superb.
I am very tempted to buy the same model, but there is also the newer 42LY95, which is more or less the same price, but has a lower contrast ratio and some additional features - the Wide Colour Gamut being the main one.
I've not seen the picture though, anyone got a view??

That is the question.

I think LG is a good make but i hear the customer service is very poor.
I have an lg dvd recorder and the firmware built into it is a bit shabby so id check out the settings and controls on the tv.
Samsung customer service has always been good to me.
I saw a sony kdl-40v3000 today and fell in love with it.....can be bought and delivered for around ?750.00.....suprb picture - full 1080 hd 16000-1 contrast ratio.

Thanks Hitman, the Sony looks an interesting alternative.
I went into Comet today and chatted to the sales guy who 'privately' recommended that if I was serious about an LG, to wait about six weeks as LG are about to launch their 100 hertz LCD range which are supposed to be superb. He said prices will be around ?899 for a 42", which'll be around ?750-?800 if you shop around on line.
Anyone heard anything about the new range?
