View Full Version : 600c and flashwizard - do they go together?

been reding various tthreads re flashing the 600c - i read that the process is same as the 500. does anyone know if flashwizard or dreamup works the same on the 600. i get confused when I have to press too many buttons

telnetting the image to the box only take about 5 mins dreamup takes about
30 mins using a seriel modem cable

No not yet but a new version of flashwizard should if it comes out.

wish they would hurry up flashing with dreamup takes ages

Dreamup is fine & fast if you use a xover cable aswell.

can you use both at once didnt know that thanks m8 will try that next time i have a play, anything special i need to know or is it stright forward

Why not telnet into your box and do;

mount -o remount,rw /boot
rm -f /boot/*
reboot
Before you do this you must:

Make sure you have a reasonable way to pick up the Dreambox via DHCP once you've nuked the image
Have an NFI image to flash
Have a machine to connect to the Dreambox web interface with that can see the Dreambox over the network (this is where you'll flash from)

This method will literally take minutes probably 3 mins max.
