yep definatly a 3.68mhz xtal, if you have one that would be great. its a tiny thing, measures about 6mm x 2mm and has what looks like 6 legs on it. if you have a look at the attatched pic its the one ive arrowed!!

Sometimes it can be a processor problem on the 2000, rather than the xtal (although most of the time it is the xtal). If this is the case then the only solution is a big pointy stick to change channel with.

Yup! thats the little fella, I tried the xtal 2beercans sent me (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. I connected pin 5 output to the pad nearest the pace ic, pin 4 GND went to the middle pad, Pin 8 Vs+ went to the next one along (3 in all) I even tried pins 5 & 8 the other way round just incase, No joy. (Just out of curiosity if anyone can check for me the 2 outer xtal mounting pads on the board both had 1.37v on them, xtal removed, is this correct? I also tried the xtal out of the remote, connecting to the 2 outer pads, No joy. Does anyone know how to test/see if an xtal is oscillating without using a scope (as ive sold mine a while back)maybe with a multimeter or something.
