Hey, the lc42xd1ea is a good LCD TV. I hunted around for a mate and came up with this model. It has a contrast ratio of 6000:1; a 6ms response time and equally importantly 2x HDMI inputs and true 1080p HI DEF.

By the way, it was recently Best Buy in "What Video & High-Definition TV" and in "AV Review group test on Plasma vs LCD 42in".

Go for it, my mate is really happy with it.

Jassian.

Hi, The HD on this panel looks spotless, it is not 100hz you need the more recent and expensive LC42XL2E, which is around ?1k mark for that. I found sd on the xd1 over procesed, saw ghostbusters dvd and there was like a halo effect around hard edges and natural skintones seemed artifical. ?799 for a quality large lcd with 1080p is a good price.
