2: do you like the layout of it

3: does anyone want to contribute towards it in anyway ? any guids you my have already etc etc

let me know what you think as its my first time producing a help file it still needs alot of work but i think its something people my find helpfull

I bet it's great.

I used the information you have previously posted to get my box up and running.

But...I can not view the attached files as I need to post 4 (3 after this hopefully) more posts.

excellent format and info, wish there was something like this when I started looking into this.
Something else that may be helpful would be an insight on how bouquets work and how best to edit them (I still find this a nitemare and most of the time dont bother with them)
The other thing i've been making notes of lately is the positive and negatives of the neutrino versus gemini images maybe this would be of help to people. I guess this changes frequently with new releases and would need to be updated regulary

Great guide though osborne

Hey Guys,

There is "Thamnks" button to the botton right of each post.
Try using that rather than posting a reply to say thanks.
If you are seem to be be doing this too often by the mods/admin it MIGHT be seen as spam posting to increase your post count. If deemed so, you MAY get a temp ban and/or have your post count reset.

Just a word of warning.

NMC

I suppose I'll have to post a few more times to access the guide as I have just bought a dreamboc 500c and need to know how to flash/configure.

One improvement would possibly to host the files somewhere yourself.

Some of the links in your guide require at least 150 posts on the forums before they grant you access to the cable section.

Its a great guide.
Thanks.
It would be nice to have somthing on signals, attenuators and boosters.

ditto:

my netureno crashing and freezing has increased and fiddling with antenuators and booster is very hit and miss.

should i abandon neutreno and load gemini (has it developed over the past six months)

sorry to have hi jacked this thred:fence:

This sounds like the kind of thing I am after.
Just bought a Dreambox 500c from dvbshop24 and am planning on using it with Teleworst.
A complete newbie to all this and am sh*tting my pants over not being able to set it up.

They're easy peesy sifurlong.

Read as much as you can before it arrives and you'll be better prepaired. Make sure you have crossover ethernet cable and a null modem cable...you'll need both.

You can find information on how to flash it here (http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/dm500/).

Cheers Devilfish.
In the end I used FTP and flashed it via my LAN.
Not sure how to sort bouqets and that out yet (other than on the box which can take a while). Is there any bouquet files available for download and if so how would I add the to my box?

At the moment the box has DW1.5 on it should I use DW1.6 or is there a better image out there?
