Hi All,

I've finally given up on my DBOX2 (Sat version)

I've tried every way I know to get something other than free-2-view channels but to no avail.

Unless someone knows something I don't, as has been said many times on this forum 'it ain't possible to hack SLY'

So I've sold it.

Question is - where do I go from here?

I suppose I'm looking for something that gives me everything, ie sport, movies, adult etc

So what do people recommend:
- Satellite or Cable? (if satellite then ideally non-motorised)
- Which Receiver?

Can't wait for some good advice.

if cable is in your area then with a dreambox/dbox (cable version;)) you can reiceve all the sly channels they broadcast.

if you still want a satellite (as cable doesnt have hard core porn:)) and you want the easiest box to use then i'd recommend a TM1500 or the new replacement TM5200 usb

To be honest, I would have stuck with the dbox2 for satellite, anything currently open, the dbox2 satellite should be able to handle, but if you have got rid then it has gone!

Forget about sly though unless you have access to cable

My only advise would be stick with an open source linux box, I have an embarrasing amount of sat boxes laid to rest due to manufactures dropping support.

Being a Dreambox user I would obviously say get a Dreambox. Especially a DM7025 and have both options!

Was reading up on the Kathrein UFS 910 which seems like a pretty good box, can do everything the dreambox can do im told ;) plus the new firmware being released will allow an external HDD to be attached via front or rear USB ports on the receiver.

Can get it from Germany delivered via courier for about 250 quid. Getting one myself should be with me next week hopefully.

seems a lot of money for a not so popular reciver m8, i cant comment too much as never seen one but for that amount you could've got a DM7020 with loads more support

you could always get a FTA rec or somethink like golden interstar or powersky .as most of these rec are all patchable with the right firmware now days. also they are mostly auto update for some providers .and they can be picked up for the right money.but saying that i also like my linux boxes .like my itgate tgs 100. so easy to run ..anyway good luck wid what you buy ...

if you have bought the receiver then not much can be said. if not go on a few satelite forums to see what support is there for the box. sounds good to be able to have external hard drive but not so good if you cant descramble channel you want because no emu for it.
