Guys,

Want to thro out my vcr only used for recording nowadays, so i thought if i can also replace my dbox2 with a Dreambox 500c ot 600c would be better.

Can someone tell how good the 500c or 600c boxes are for stability and recording / recording quality, my dbox2 freezes about every 5 days and needs a reboot or more than once on the same day when keys roll.

i am conteplating a genuine 500c but are clones any better? also is there a HDD ide pcb i have to buy to enable me to record to hdd

If you want to record to hdd then I would advise you to go for the 600pvr. I've just got a 500c came today clone one. I've compared it with My mate genuine 500c and I must say that mine is as good as his.

I brought my DM600PVR about a month ago and installed one my spare laptop hard drive into the box. The recording is as good as my hdd dvd recorder but the best thing about it is I can watch whatever I have recorded through the pc.
