Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has agreed a new 'long-term' contract with the Gunners.

The Togo international, who only arrived at the Emirates Stadium in January 2006, has been rewarded with a new contract after making 57 appearances in his 18 months with the club.
Adebayor was a virtual ever-present in Arsene Wenger's starting line-up during the second half of this season with captain Thierry Henry and strike partner Robin van Persie sidelined through long-term injuries.

The 23-year-old former AS Monaco hitman has netted 16 times for the club.

Adebayor has also scored 15 times in 36 international appearances for Togo.

However, the rangy striker did miss four games through suspension after being sent off towards the end of February's Carling Cup final defeat by Chelsea.
"Arsenal are delighted to announce that Emmanuel Adebayor has signed a new long-term contract with the club," confirmed a club statement.
