Guys,

Since I've updated my box to DW 1.6.2 I've lost the option to start an ngrab recording. Any ideas?

Doh, thanks guys. I tried to get direct recording working but never have so I've been using ngrab. I'll try again with direct recording....are there any decent guides on this anywhere?

You can use ngrab via the timer option, make sure you have it running on your PC and you have set it up in expert settings on the dreambox. How i record is info button twice then yellow then scroll to RecordDVR and enter then select Ngrab then scroll to apply, job done.

OK, Ive reloaded an image that the ngrab worked from the blue button and downloaded the pluggin files via ftp then loaded them backup to my current image via ftp to /var/tuxbox/plugins now Ngrab works via the blue button and via the timer, great. I have upload the files you need in the download section below.

Image 1.6.5

I've followed all the install/setup instructions and everything seems to work apart from the actual recording bit. The NGrab server says it's started & working but there's no physical streaming apart from a log file & m2p file that are created in the streaming folder.

29/02/2008 17:46:04 [MuxWriter] started
29/02/2008 17:46:04 [Muxer] started
29/02/2008 17:46:04 [VideoProcessor] started
29/02/2008 17:46:04 [VideoPesParser] started
29/02/2008 17:46:04 [AudioProcessor0] started
29/02/2008 17:46:04 [AudioPesParser0] started
29/02/2008 17:46:04 [VideoHTTP] started
29/02/2008 17:46:04 [VideoHTTP] HTTP streaming started successfully
29/02/2008 17:46:04 [AudioHTTP0] started
29/02/2008 17:46:04 [AudioHTTP0] HTTP streaming started successfully

Log files are 490 bytes & m2p files are 4 bytes.

Any clues as to what the problem might be?
I assume that my Dreambox can play m2p files if I want to stream them from my PC?

Is there any software that can record programs to my PC, stream the recorded programs back to my Dreambox & stream AVI files?

Thanks in-advance for any advice.

would 2.0 not fix these issues? What are the benifits of staying with the older image?
