Got woken up at 6am this morning by the dog going crazy and loads of
funny noises and screeching....fkn sh*t myself.
Went out on the landing and there is a a baby Squirrel sitting in a fire flue duct (i took the gas fire out a couple of days ago) going crazy it must have got through a gap between the flue and the brick work through the cavity somehow.

Managed to chase it down the stairs it took my m8 and me a hour to get it out the back door lmao.
I sat out in the garden for a couple of hours watching it and its ma came along and the pair of little bleeders ran on to my roof and down into the eve's
so they must be living in there and have managed to get into the loft and wall
cavitys.

I have phoned the council and they said they dont deal with them even though i said they are grey squirrels and classed as vermin and i will have to pay a private firm to get rid off them.
Anyone know how much about it would cost?
Or he said i can get some stuff from a diy store to put down.
Anyone know what this stuff is called?

Dont really want to kill them, im a big softy were wildlife is concerned
I just want them out of me loft or at least pay me some rent:roflmao:.
Thanks for looking.

Make sure they out and runing about and grab yourself a tube of instent foam, the expanding type and they wont get back in.
If they try when its wet the will end up with fury cement boots.
Be carefull with them m8 the gray ones will go for yea if cornered just like sea rats.

I had some animals in my loft before and was told the best thing to get rid of them is to send up a ferrett and it will kill anything up there then you just need to go round and pick up all the bits of animals and block up the holes with the expanding foam as someone already said, mine wernt squirrels and I was able to get one of them plug things that scare away vermin.

Squirrel pepper and traps did noting in my sister loft. The buggers kept coming back. Finaly got a company in to do the loft. They told her to play loud rock music for two hours before they got there. When they arived they nailed that thin wire mesh up get from DIY shops over all the gaps across the joins from the wall to the roof. Then used a strong cement mix and covered over it all. The squirrels might have come back but they never got back in the loft. The next morning there was two sat on next doors grarge roof looking at the house, they dint look happy :roflmao:.

y2k.... have you ever seen "Caddyshack"

I think you may know where I'm going here...

get some plastic explosives and mould it into the shape of a squirrel and then place them strategically around the garden and wait...

When "Tufty" approaches your "squirrel" for a sniff an a chat..

KABOOM

problem solved :)

discalimer....

I accept no responsibility for ensuing carnage and possible imprisonment.. Although, Canadians are generally quite tolerant of guns.. (maybe even high explosives?!) so you should probably be ok...

Die squirrel nutkin, die!

Large hawks and owls swoop down and kill squirrels then eat them. Have you ever thought about becoming a falconer?

There even is a falcon mart The Falconers Web Free Mart (http://mart.falconers.com/) .:banana4:

A typical place for them to get in is through the facia-board.

If you have a wooden facia board you should check it for holes as they often rot just above the guttering leaving holes.

I had a problem with birds in my loft and a customer of mine had squirrels in her loft and both got in this way.

Use EML (expanded metal lathing) or some pvc to block the holes.
A half decent builder should sort it if you don't fancy it

As for catching them....not always easy.....maybe a live trap or sonic device to deter them.

Trouble with poisoning them is having to find the bodies :goodluck:
