Hello,

I?ve just started to download 1080p H.264 films and documentaries on my PC, what methods are there for playing these files on a HDTV? I know the XBOX 360 is about to become capable of playing H.264, but from what I read it doesn?t include 5.1 sound?

Are there any other methods? I?ve not bought the HDTV , and I don?t currently have a XBOX 360 but as HD content is starting to become available I thought I?d see what the options are.

I have a new Premium Vista enabled PC upstairs and this is currently networked to an Original XBOX (currently used to stream DIVX) in my living room.

Thanks in advance

You may need to buy a LCD screen that has a PC input. Or u can get a DVI to HDMI converter, and any HD LCD will have at least one HDMI input

My main concern is the PC is in my bedroom and TV would be downstairs, I?ve got a router and home network so I was thinking of some kind of Media Extender?

I have a Media Centre PC, it has HDMI and DD outputs. I use HDMI into my Tosh 42" LCD at 1080i and opticat DD into my surround sound amp.

Since updating the codecs it plays the 720p x264 stuff perfectly :)
