this has made this ok now but what im getting now is the picture goes funny sort of blurry and jumpy from top first then it sort of works it way to the bootom of the pic (this dont do it often, but when it does its peeing me off)

i am conecting my projector like this component (dvd player end) to 15 pin vga (projector end) would this be to do with any thing. as the component end is interlaced and vga is de-interlaced or the other way round.

yes that will be the problem
do some reading on google for your original problem
or
look for a 'how to' on-line.

it might be an idea just to rule out it is not a projector fault
how about putting your pc to the projector via a vga><vga lead and runnin it for a wahile and see if all stays stable.

thats interesting,
so this is through the hcs system?
i'e the video signal feeding the projector is via the hcs?

cant see it being a dvd 'type' problem
i'm wondering if you have a setting wrong on the player then?

progressive scan set wrong?
try the other options of o/p you have
ie bitstreaming or rgb or something..
another way to ee if it is the dvd is to run atv off another o/p on the back of the dvd player?
does it die to that device too?
