Have you installed any new hardware lately this could be the problem, also try booting your computer up with no usb devices plugged and see if it still crashes and when you do get back onto windows check the hard drive for disc errors Check for Disk Errors in Windows XP (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. Try to Chkdsk from the Recovery Console.
If windows is having a problem with the file or directory structure, chkdsk /f will fix the problem.
You can do this by booting up from the XP bootable CD.
when finished exit Then reboot as normal. If it does it again you most likely need to reinstall Windows.
I have seen Wrong vga driver caused the same problem. Have you changed or installed any dirver?
Hope this is of help.

I've tried reinstalling windows,i get so close to the end,i'd say about 5 mins after i've put the keygen in and then it reboots and tries to install windows again.
Could this be a hardware problem.

It could be a hardware problem are you trying to install xp by booting from the cd and then doing a full format when asked? or are you just sticking the cd in and trying to install it from there, and dont pick upgrade pick fresh install unless you want to keep stuff thats on your computer.

I think thats your problem you will be better of booting from the xp disc and deleting the old windows folder and any partitions when it asks you then you will be left with a big chunk of free space, choose to set up xp on that and then it will ask you to do a format dont choose any of the quick format options.
