ONE-DAY SERIES FINAL, MATCH ONE, MELBOURNE: England 253-6 (49.3 overs) v Australia 252 (48.3 overs)

Paul Collingwood's second successive CB Series hundred put England in with an excellent chance in the first final.

Two quick wickets fell and 25 were needed from the final 18 balls but Collingwood hit two timely boundaries.
He and Ian Bell put on 133 for the third wicket, after England, needing 253 for victory in the MCG day-nighter, had slumped to a depressing 15-3.
Earlier, Andrew Flintoff took 3-41 as Australia collapsed from 170-1 to be bowled out for a below-par 252.

somehow one day game is getting more popular than a 5 day test match ,so if england wins the one day final, they will salvage some respect, moreover world cup is on the horizan,it will do lot to their morale.
