well its been only a few days after the announcment of the Wiinja that the mod market is allready hotting up.

As lots know the wiinja is going to open the floodgates for the chip market and so it has now before the relese date of the actual chip wiinja is claming a former employee/co-worker has taken off with there idea lol

and produced the CycloWiz

Here is what we know so far about this chip:

- Quicksolder (no wires required)
- Plays Wii Backups
- Plays GC Backups
- Play GC Homebrew
- Play GC Imports (swap needed)
- Built-in Audiofix (GC games using streaming are working flawlessly, no patch needed)
- DVD-R / DVD+R support
- Optional chip disable wire
- Stealth even when chip is enabled
- Multi-purpose LED

and the stealth mode means it wont be detactable online :) no relese date as of yet.

now currently we know the wiinja is not updatable :( so tbh it might be worth waiting a week of 2 for chips and see what else is produced..

there are Several European crews, including a couple of the 'big boys' are working on a firmware hack. and the chip might give them the help they need to find a working firmware hack.

and there is now another chip ... but

WiiKey (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. A new mod has been announced known as the 'WiiKey' which is rumored to be made by the 'XenoGC' creators. Their website lists a number of features and claims it will be fully upgradable by DVD disc. Unfortunately they do not display a 'real' image of the mod and only a small picture which suggests it could be far away from production.

Specifications:

- Fully upgradable via DVD/disc (future proof, expect cool features to come)
- Direct boot of Wii backups (like originals)
- Direct boot of GC backups (like originals)
- Boots different region GC games/backups
- Boots different NTSC region Wii games/backups
- Supports multi-disc games
- Supports DVD-R and DVD+R
- Built-in audio fix (for games using streaming, no patch required)
- Stealth mode
- 4 wires & quick solder interface
- Compact design, best quality components, rock solid high speed controller
- Professional ESD packing

More features are being worked on, and will either be included in the upcoming release or in a future upgrade that will follow the release shortly.

We will upload a picture and more features within the next few days!

tho this has not been confirmed yet.. just hold on to ya chip money for a few more week and see what comes out ;)

thats right at the monemt none of the chips that are out are updatable :( but the Wiikey is, the only problem is it hasn't been confirmed as working and at this point.. it's still early days and it might be worth waiting just a few weeks more....

ok cyclowiz may be cheaper, its in NO way better, they say its stealth mode, load of bollox the wii just cannot detect it, there is no code in the sw28( the pic that cyclowiz uses) to actually stealth the chip itself, therfor no stealth :)

save you money for a while guys and wait til i start selling wiinja clones,

the quicksolder part isnt really a good thing, remember that these are first gen modchips, desoldering quicksoldered pcbs can be hard if u dont know how, also you can use a switch with both chips, not just cyclowiz, if your looking to make a switch, ill be glad to set it all up for ya i might even start selling kits with switches etc and a socket, the socket will allow you to take the chip out if any new ones come out.
