Yes they do but dont use it m8 they are a right fire risk, just cut the end off the wire and put a UK plug on m8, dead easy.

I have just bought the dreambox 500c, just a few questions I am hoping you guys can help me with. I am a complete noob!!

1. Can I use this with teleworst as my cable provider?
2. Do I need to change the cable connector from f-plug to standard aerial plug, and then just plug that in the back?
3. I assume I am using a null modem cable to flash the dreambox, is that right?

Cheers for you help (in anticipation)

As far as I know (because im at work and the box has just arrived at my house) the dreambox doesn't have an f-plug connection. TW cabling is finished off with a f-plug so it looks like it wont fit directly.
Do I need both boxes together to make it work?

DanMB

Both boxes which boxes do you mean?

TW came and fitted a Scientific Atlanta receiver, as I was led to believe that you needed a TW tv subscription to receive the TV signal to your house. Is this the case?

So what I mean is do I have to connect the Scientific Atalanta box (as provided by TW) then link this into the dreambox via the RF or do I do something different?

1. I was told you can use Telewest Broadband Connection.

2. The SA Box doesn't have to be connected however it's best if you buy a spitter and maybe use it somewhere else in the house or just next to the dreambox because of the SA talksback to Telewest so they do not suspect anything. Still alot of people dont bother connecting TW boxes it's upto you.

Cheers, I have both TW broadband and the phone. I added the TV subscription as well and my bill actually got reduced by ?1 a month (christ knows why, I wasn't arguing). Anyway going to keep the TV subscription and use the TW SA box upstairs, I have since found out that I need to get an f-plug to RF male (normal aerial) convertor and then just feed this into the back of the dreamview box.

Sound about right?

got my dreambox connected, how do i tell if it needs flashing (got it from dvb-shop24.net) The interface is in English but the missus could have changed that b4 i got home.

Also I have managed to connect it to my LAN but when I attempt to use the web interface, the dreambox is after a password and username. Is there a default one when the box is shipped?

Please help

I have got the DW.img file (version 1.5 for the time being) and I know how to ftp the file. However, which directory do i place it in on the dreambox in order to flash it. And then how do I perform the flashing of the box.

When I have looked all I can find about flashing is by using flashwizard and not by using this image file.

Can someone give me a few pointers please??

What a nugget I am.
To my embarrassment I found out that you flash the box using flashwizard to install the image file (DW.img).

Found it out by reading the dreambox flashing guide and looking in the flashing section (fancy that eh??)
