Hi there are dbox2s for sale on ebay for sat,has anyone got one and do they work like the cable ones

they will not get any sky channels bar the free ones
unless you get xtra equipment and join/do card sharing.

sky videocrypt (nagra) cannot be cracked on sat.

not the best of boxes for sat m8.

consider a technomate 1500 or 1600 or dreambox m8

It just depends what you want to do with it...

European TV Channels have quite a far amount of Interesting Programs and most PayTV includes English as a 2nd Option in the Soundtrack.

Also European and UK Football matches can be interesting

If you want it for SlyUK it is a bit more complicated to get it working but you can use a FreeView Card or a original Sly Card and install a Multicam into the Dbox and off you go. Of course only for the subscribed programs but it gives you far more access to the UK Astra as you do not have to pay Hr. Murd0ck extra money for a Sly+ subscription just to be able to have AC3 Sound on your channels and you also can record your programs to a Network attached drive or a mapped drive on a PC or even buy the IDE Interface.

Only negative with all above is the loss of full EPG but that can be solved to with extra effort.

Remember it is all a hobby but there are many many UK Users with a Dbox Sat out there.
