hello everybody,

i'm looking to buy a new laptop and i will not have easy access to a desktop pc, but as you all know new laptops don't have a serial port (well not that i've seen anyway)

i need to run a unlooper, i have a orange nexus and a ubomb but the last i heard they dont work with a usb to serial converter (n*gra edit)

has anyone got a way around this either a new unlooper or converter etc

regards

thankyou everybody,

i will have a go with one of the above mentioned adapters to try it with n*gra edit before i invest any money first.

i have found a company selling nc6000 (factory refurbs) for about 340 inc, it does give me the option if the adapter does not work.

many thanks

just me 2p
having been with PC's and RS232 since the first IBM 8Mb windows 2.0 M/C.

i use the belkin full usb <> serial adaptor & never had any problems with either true dos nor any other Serial use. [modern 2.8Ghz Dual Processor Laptop booted from dos 5.0 Floppy or bootable CD].

ok
well i do alot of true DOS working with progging radios & RS232 devices
its not 'just' a converter it provides all the true TTL levels that i need .
anyhow the choice is yours.
