Hi. Is anyone running a dreambox 500s with a indoor satellite dish? I have a mate who lives in a listed building and isnt allowed to have a dish outside.
Cheers.

dont you require clear line of sight between sat and dish. i have a motorised dish and because of trees i cant get anything 30w and above

yes you do and also with a standard mini dish u would recieve much other than astra2 (28.2E) as the dish is so small. you'd need something like a gemini 70 cm dish before you can start getting a decent view of sats

I use a 1.1m motorised dish and even then some of the more obscure satellites are a bit ropey for signal.

With a 1.1m dish 16e is rock solid for me mate. Its some of the wider satellites that struggle a bit.

Depends on where you are and what type of minidish you have. If you have one of the larger ones (eg you live up north), i've seen them do all channels on 19.2 and most on hotbird.

I've also seen a dish mounted indoors (secured to a broomstick attached to a chair!). The problem with these is your windows. Not only do they have to be facing the right way, most modern windows have special glass to keep the heat in. That same technology also keeps the sat signals out...

I'd forget it or try one of those digiglobes.
