I recommend getting one of these off ebay - very uselful and they have a dynamo and don't need baterries

They sell them in B&Q, you will be able to see if they work there but im sure they do. Dont know about the wind up but you shake them and the light comes on.

Woolworths have the ones that you wind up - and can select whether it uses one LED or 3 LED's for light and they can also be used to charge your mobile phone...
a great idea if you go camping!

i bought both, the wind up and the one you shake, the one you shake isnt as bright and you can be at it for a while to get some decent light thrown out but the wind up one is cool, great light off it after 30 secs and the radio is on for around an hour just off 30 secs wind up :)

I've got one that looks like the Woolworths one, but without the phone charger. It's pretty good, but you it's brighter while you're winding it. Only trouble then is that it's a bit noisy.

well they do not throw light at a far distance but good for watching around just 1-3 meter radious
