Hi
On sunday i will hopfully have my solid oak flooring laid but was wondering if anyone knew the best way to prepare bar concrete for this wood?

bare concrete ? the old way was to lay a screed of asphalt thats the way those wooden zigzag floors where laid , but thats a pain in the ass , the modern way is to lay wood on a concrete floor is underlay , the exact same underlay that is used flor those laminate click floors the white foam stuff

if its floorboards , any ive seen have used the laminate underlay , as the floor is now a floating floor system due to not being nailed down so expand and contracts with changing heat

Not sure floating a solid wood floor is a good idea unless it was intended for this as it might shrink, bend and warp.
